Classical Ballet
The Dance Workshop recommends that children start their dance training with Classical Ballet Classes. These classes geared at children aged 3 and 4 years, focus on imagination, musicality and creativity. The following year, children will start to work on basic ballet training and they will be introduced to the formal build-up of the ballet class. Classes for older students are generally syllabus oriented (Cecchetti Method) and several non-syllabus classes are available. Students in the higher grades will be introduced to complementary training namely fitness and stretching as well as pas de deux and repertoire.

Modern Theatre (Jazz Dance)
Students at The Dance Workshop aged 6 and over can join our Modern Theatre dance classes or as they are popularly known as Jazz classes. Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style. The Dance Workshop holds annual ISTD examinations in Modern Theatre dance.
